REKA Walking-House Adventure Launches October 26 With TGS 2026 Demo
Emberstorm Entertainment’s witch adventure REKA will release its full version (1.0) on October 26, publisher Shochiku Games has confirmed. Players become Reka, apprentice to the legendary witch Baba Yaga, building a personal walking magical house and traveling through a mysterious, procedurally generated autumn world while learning to command the forces of nature and the spirits of the earth. The title marks the debut project for the Berlin-based studio. Ahead of launch, the game will also be shown as a playable demo at Tokyo Game Show 2026, and a free demo arrives for PC on September 29.
Central to REKA is the legendary walking house, a dwelling supported by giant bird legs that can be summoned to journey across the world with its owner. Housing options are extensive: players arrange furniture, decorate interiors, and enjoy what the developer describes as near-limitless freedom in shaping their home. This moving structure doubles as a safe haven within an unpredictable landscape, built from scratch as a tranquil hideaway where magic can be refined. It is an unconventional take on base-building that suits the game’s folkloric premise.

Shochiku Games will host playable sessions of REKA at Tokyo Game Show 2026, held September 17-21 at Makuhari Messe, with public days running September 19-21. Attendees at the Shochiku booth can sample the game before its release. Following the show, a free demo will launch for PC on September 29, letting players build their own walking magical house and explore the autumn forest ahead of the full version. Both events offer an early look at the crafting systems and exploration that define the experience.

Forests, swamps, and villages are procedurally generated, delivering striking autumn scenery as players gather materials, tame wild animals into companions, and even bring creatures home. A character creator allows full customization of the protagonist, while villager quests present a recurring moral question: help those in need or look the other way, with every decision shaping Reka’s story. REKA launches October 26 for PC at 2,300 yen including tax – about $16 (~¥115) – as a single-player title. It comes from Berlin-based Emberstorm Entertainment, founded in 2020, with Fireshine Games and Shochiku Games (publishing for Asia) behind distribution. With its bird-legged house and cozy-craft heart, this debut is definitely one to keep an eye on.
