Edge of Memories Sets December 10, 2026 PS5 Launch, Pre-Orders Open
Publisher 3goo has announced that Edge of Memories, a new action RPG created by a French development team in collaboration with Japanese creators, will launch for PlayStation 5 on December 10, 2026. Pre-orders for the physical Deluxe Edition opened on the same day as the announcement, alongside a new gameplay trailer detailing the title. The game is a successor to Edge of Eternity, an RPG played by more than one million people worldwide. Its screenplay is handled by Sawako Natori, known for her work on NieR and Tales of Eternia.
The title is described as an anime-styled action RPG inspired by numerous classic Japanese RPGs. Development is led by the French creative team behind Edge of Eternity, with prominent Japanese game creators contributing to the project. Set in a world where beauty and menace sit side by side, the game blends fast-paced real-time battles with a weighty drama. The team says the project is packed with respect for the JRPG genre. Sawako Natori, whose credits include NieR and Tales of Eternia, oversees the script.
The physical Deluxe Edition includes the main game plus three pieces of additional content. It also bundles a digital art pack containing a digital artbook and a digital soundtrack, letting players engage more deeply with the game’s world. Cosmetic content allows players to change the appearance of the protagonist and companions. The Deluxe Edition is priced at 5,980 yen (about $40) including tax and supports one offline player. Text is available in Japanese, English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Korean, with Japanese and English voice options.
Cédric Menendez serves as the game’s main composer, crafting music that honors the sensibilities inherited from classic RPGs while weaving in his own perspective. The soundtrack depicts a ‘Great Migration’ of people leaving their homelands, a world ravaged by disease, a journey to uncover lost origins, and people living within a constantly changing environment. Fantasy vocals by Emi Evans add further color to the atmosphere. The world map theme, ‘Eline’s Journey,’ was composed by Menendez with vocals by Evans. The bundled digital soundtrack does not include tracks composed by Yasunori Mitsuda or Mariam Abounnasr, and the included artbook is in English. For fans of JRPG-inspired adventures, the fusion of French development and Japanese creative talent makes this one worth watching.
