One Piece: Ocean’s Delicious Restaurant Brings 400+ Characters to TGS
One Piece: Ocean’s Delicious Restaurant (ONE PIECE 海のごちそうレストラン) was showcased in playable form at Tokyo Game Show 2026, held from September 17 to 20. The final day of the event was cancelled due to an approaching typhoon. Developed by Kairosoft and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, the title follows the studio’s 2024 release Doraemon’s Dorayaki Shop Story as another collaboration pairing Kairosoft’s simulation expertise with a beloved national franchise. In the game, players manage a sea restaurant alongside Sanji and Luffy, taking on the role of a new staff member who helps run the shop.
According to the preview, the story opens after a massive storm separates the Straw Hat crew, leaving only Luffy and Sanji at the player’s side, with Zoro and Nami among those missing. The structure is deliberately simple: players work as a new restaurant staff member, search for new ingredients, develop new menus, and serve customers. When a new dish is well received, more customers begin to visit, and this loop drives the game forward. Notably, the preview states there is no risk of bankruptcy or a game-over from harsh business decisions, positioning the title as a relaxed management experience rather than a demanding economic simulation.

Its headline feature is meeting characters from One Piece. During a 20-minute demo session, famous figures appeared one after another, including Coby and a lost Zoro. Kairosoft has officially announced that more than 400 characters will appear in total, and even boss-class characters are shown arriving as customers. The Lord of the Coast also makes an appearance, and it seems players can befriend it through some method, though the demo’s level was not high enough to do so. The review compares the excitement to opening trading cards or collecting stickers, noting the joy grows the deeper a player’s love for One Piece runs.

New menu development plays a central role, with the skilled cook Sanji at the heart of the action, so much so that the preview suggests Sanji could be considered the protagonist. Completed dishes must first be taste-tested by Luffy, who enthusiastically declares everything “delicious.” The restaurant is presented in Kairosoft’s familiar pixel art style, rendering the characters in the studio’s signature cute aesthetic. One Piece: Ocean’s Delicious Restaurant is scheduled to launch on October 22, 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC, with the mobile version arriving on October 23. For One Piece fans who prefer a gentler pace over combat, this is one to watch.
