Super Mario Galaxy Teams Up with Baskin-Robbins Japan for Sweet Collab
Baskin-Robbins Japan has announced a special collaboration with Nintendo’s Super Mario Galaxy, launching a limited-time campaign from April 1 to May 7, 2026. The ice cream chain is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Super Mario Bros. series with this exclusive partnership. The collaboration features specially designed ice cream flavors inspired by the game’s galactic setting, along with character-themed cups, sundaes, and dessert sets. All items are available for a limited time only at participating Baskin-Robbins locations across Japan, offering fans a unique way to experience the Super Mario Galaxy universe through sweet treats.
The collaboration introduces a new ice cream flavor designed to represent Super Mario Galaxy’s sparkling galaxy and adventurous spirit. The creation features three colors: dark blue cotton candy-flavored ice cream, sky blue salted lychee-flavored sorbet with a salty accent, and white sweet-and-sour pear-flavored sorbet. These three colors combine to create a galaxy-inspired visual effect, enhanced with newly developed Power Star-shaped confections. The flavor combination of sweetness, saltiness, and sourness creates what the company describes as a uniquely delicious experience. The single regular size is priced at 420 yen (~$2.80).
Two types of limited-edition double cups are available featuring Super Mario Galaxy designs. Design A showcases Mario, Peach, Toad, and Rosalina, while Design B depicts Yoshi and Mario on their adventure. Additionally, a special double cup features Rosalina, Mario, Luma, and the Comet Observatory, complete with Rosalina’s crown pick and an adorable Luma spoon charm accessory. The charm includes a mini silicone ring and metal fitting for attachment to pencil cases or pouches. Prices range from 510 yen (~$3.40) for small doubles to 930 yen (~$6.20) for regular doubles with the special accessories.
The collaboration includes several themed desserts, including a sundae featuring Mario’s various actions and transformation poses, topped with whipped cream, dragées, Luma-designed chocolate, and one of six random Mario picks. A double sundae presents Mario, Yoshi, and Rosalina appearing to travel through space, complete with a microfiber Luma sleeve accessory. An eight-scoop Sweets Galaxy Set comes in specially designed packaging and includes a Rosalina’s Picture Book eco-bag that folds into a book shape. From April 1, customers purchasing certain cups receive limited Grand Star-shaped shine stickers, while app check-ins offer original stickers while supplies last. This collaboration offers Mario fans a delicious way to celebrate the series’ anniversary with exclusive collectibles.
