Warhammer 3’s Largest DLC ‘Lords of the End Times’ Arrives Sept 24
SEGA has announced that Lords of the End Times, the newest DLC for Creative Assembly’s Total War: Warhammer 3, will launch on September 24. Described as the largest expansion in the series’ ten-year history, the DLC introduces four new Legendary Lords inspired by the End Times narrative, alongside a substantial roster of new battlefield units, themed gameplay mechanics, and a major free update. The expansion draws from the apocalyptic storylines of the Warhammer fantasy setting, bringing iconic figures into the grand Immortal Empires campaign. Pre-orders are now open across PC digital storefronts, and each Legendary Lord and their associated content can also be purchased individually.
Each new Legendary Lord represents a distinct strategic experience rooted in Warhammer lore. They include Nagash, the Supreme Lord of the Undead, who seeks to drain the world of life to ascend to godhood; Boris Todbringer, Elector Count of Middenland, who rekindles the flame of Ulric to defend the Empire; the three Glottkin brothers, who spread the plague-god Nurgle’s putrid gardens across the land; and Thanquol, who orchestrates daemonic schemes through cunning plots. These four characters anchor the DLC’s new content and bring the End Times conflict to the campaign map.
The DLC also delivers some of the series’ most striking battlefield additions, including the Khemrian Titan, a magic-driven giant beetle-like construct; the Verminlord, a powerful daemonic avatar of the Horned Rat; the Glottkin, a decayed elite brotherhood wreathed in daemon flies; and the Heavenly Chariot, a war-altar vehicle empowered by the eight winds of magic. For the first time in series history, purchasing the DLC, whether as a full bundle or as individual components, unlocks the Immortal Empires campaign without requiring any previous Total War: Warhammer title, making it an accessible entry point for newcomers. The expansion’s content breakdown includes 4 Legendary Lords, 8 Legendary Heroes, 5 Lords and Heroes, 23 units, and 12 elite units, plus new mechanics, traits, and objectives.
The DLC arrives with one of the largest free game updates in the series’ history. Headlining the update is the new Legendary Lord Neferata, the Vampire Queen, alongside full reworks for the Vampire Counts and the Everchosen Archaon. The update also introduces new endgame scenarios, including Chaos Invasion, Vermintide, and Nagash’s Rise, as well as updated victory conditions for all existing Legendary Lords. The Total War series has sold over 48.3 million copies to date, and Creative Assembly is also developing Total War: Warhammer 40,000 and Total War: Medieval 3. With the End Times approaching and this much content on offer, September 24 is shaping up to be a landmark moment for the long-running strategy franchise.
