ROBOTEKA Demo Now Available: Robot Karate Action Arrives November 2026
A playable demo for ROBOTEKA (ロボテカ), a 2D fighting action game for PC, is now available, according to a press release. The full version is scheduled to launch in November 2026. Inspired by the classic Apple II action title Karateka, ROBOTEKA is a side-scrolling 2D action game set in a near-future world where players wield a special robot karate discipline called “Robo-Te” to battle an evil organization. The game focuses on timing and spacing (maai), delivering a new kind of fighting experience that reportedly requires no fast, reflex-heavy inputs.
Combat is built around an intentionally simple control scheme: players shift their weight using a left/right lever and press a reversal button. From these basics, punches, kicks, and roundhouse kicks can be unleashed. Success depends on timing and distance — dodging an enemy attack at the last moment while in the right range lets players land blows at maximum power, potentially taking down opponents in a single hit. When the gauge is full, performing a last-moment dodge triggers MIKIRI (見切り) mode, during which all attacks deal triple damage.

Each stage features set missions; clearing them levels up standard punches and kicks and unlocks new techniques. Players can switch to the optimal attack method for each enemy type, though those who master spacing can clear stages with only the basic strikes. The battle is accompanied by 13 original soundtrack tracks composed to match the game’s world. The creator, described as having a strong passion for real martial arts, aims to capture a slice of martial arts appeal in this unconventional fighting experience.

ROBOTEKA is listed as a 2D fighting action game built with the Unity engine, supporting Japanese and English. Pricing has not yet been announced, and the full release is targeted for November 2026 on PC, with the original soundtrack bundled with the game. With its Karateka-inspired design and the unusual hook of robot martial arts, this timing-focused title is one to keep an eye on for fans of deliberate, precision-based action.
