Resident Evil 30th Anniversary Exhibition Set for Shibuya This Fall
Tohokushinsha Film Corporation, with cooperation and supervision from Capcom, has revealed new details for “THE WORLD OF BIOHAZARD 30th Anniversary Exhibition,” a world-first large-scale exhibition celebrating 30 years of the Resident Evil series. The event runs from October 30 to December 24, 2026, a total of 56 days, at the Shibuya BEAM Gallery in Tokyo, located about a five-minute walk from Shibuya Station. Newly confirmed content includes theater presentations and a photo spot based on a classic villain. The exhibition is organized, staged, and produced by Tohokushinsha, with Capcom handling cooperation and supervision, and general tickets are already on sale.
A centerpiece of the exhibition is a theater presentation designed to pull visitors from reality into the world of Resident Evil. It revisits the various “incidents” that have occurred across the series in chronological order, projecting scenes from past titles onto a large screen. A separate exhibit focuses on the series’ recurring infection elements — viruses, parasites, and fungi — gathering numerous development materials under those three themes. Organizers describe the event as one that expresses the elements building Resident Evil at realistic scale, offering an immersive experience where visitors can relive the events and horrors faced by protagonists through physical spaces, video, and sculptural displays. A new promotional video condensing the exhibition’s highlights has also been released.

A standout addition is a photo spot featuring Jack Baker from Resident Evil 7: biohazard. Promotional text for the exhibit reads, “You’re part of the family too!” The character, who relentlessly pursues players in the game, is depicted emerging from a wall, allowing visitors to pose beside him. Organizers note that further projects and exhibits will be announced in future updates, and that information about the exhibition may change without prior notice. Visitors are encouraged to check official channels for the latest details and notes before attending.

New original merchandise has been unveiled, including a VILLAINS T-shirt at ¥4,900 (about $33), WELCOME and Raccoon-kun T-shirts at ¥5,400 (about $36) each, Licker and Chainsaw Man socks at ¥1,980 (about $13) each, and embroidered Jack Baker socks at ¥2,500 (about $17). Shop-only entry is not permitted, and each visitor is limited to one transaction. Entry hours run from 10:00 to 21:00 on weekdays and 9:00 to 21:00 on weekends and holidays, with last admission at 19:59, and the exhibition is open daily with no closures during its run. Attendees will receive a sticker bearing new 30th-anniversary artwork while supplies last. For longtime fans, this anniversary showcase looks like a fitting tribute to three decades of survival horror.
