Palworld v1.0.3 Update Lowers Unlock Requirements, Fixes Crashes

Developer Pocketpair has rolled out the v1.0.3 update for Palworld, with this patch centered on easing the unlock barriers around late-game content and refining overall gameplay. The update adjusts technology unlock levels tied to Jetragon, reworks the water building set’s requirements, and introduces new ways to obtain World Tree Holy Water. Alongside the balance changes, the patch delivers a series of stability fixes, including crashes on PS5 and Xbox One, plus corrections for several gameplay-affecting bugs. The v1.0.3 update is now live for players across supported platforms.
On the balance side, tech unlocks related to Jetragon have dropped from level 79 to level 70, with material costs for the Pal equipment required for riding reduced as well. The water building set has seen an even more dramatic change, moving its unlock from level 66 all the way down to level 23, while the ancient technology points needed fell from 4 to 1. World Tree Holy Water now lasts longer and weighs only 0.1 instead of 1, and players can obtain it through World Tree expeditions, fishing, and large fishing ponds, adding several fresh acquisition routes.

Resource production also received attention in v1.0.3. Oil refineries and large generators now cost less to build while producing output faster, and collecting fiber from trees yields double the amount. On the visual and audio front, the update improves area boundary displays and the rendering quality of objects inside dungeons. A new sound effect has also been added for using World Tree Holy Water, giving the item clearer feedback during play.

Multiple stability issues have been addressed in this patch. The PS5 version previously crashed when opening the cross-pal terminal with parental controls enabled, while Xbox One players encountered crashes near a boss in the World Tree region — both are now fixed. The update also resolves abnormal lighting after co-op cutscenes and cases where Pals stopped fighting or working at base. Bug fixes include an item duplication exploit and an issue where key binding settings failed to revert to defaults when reset. Given the scope of progression easing and crash fixes, this update is a meaningful quality-of-life boost, particularly for players grinding toward the endgame.
