Onmyo Shrine Maiden Roguelike Time Attack Set for Oct 18
KADOKAWA Game Linkage has announced an official time attack tournament for its horror roguelike 《深 四のの目 -陰陽の巫女-》, a title built around an Edo-period haunted house. The event, titled “Fastest Miko Showdown,” is scheduled for October 18, 2026, and will run online from 19:00 to 21:30. Competition is limited to the PC version of the game. The broadcast will be available through video platforms and the title’s official social media channels, with voice actress Akiho Suzumoto, who plays protagonist Yono, appearing as a special guest.
Using the in-game “Misogi” mode, every participant enters a shared “dream number” announced during the broadcast to challenge an identical dungeon at the same time and race for the fastest clear time. Competitors are divided into randomly selected groups of four, and each group receives its own designated dream number, a serial code that generates a matching map layout. Final rankings are decided by the clear time shown on the in-game results screen. The action will be commentated by Michido Nishioka and Hachi, a game writer, as coverage switches between the players’ screens.

Applications open on October 7 at 12:00 and close on October 14 at 23:59, with participation free of charge. Twelve players will be chosen by lottery, but only residents of Japan are eligible to take part. Entrants must own the PC version of the game and have unlocked the Misogi mode. Each group winner will receive a digital gift card worth 3,000 yen (~$20). According to the announcement, the event’s content and scheduling may be changed without prior notice.
The featured title is a thinking-type roguelike horror game in which players control Yono, a shrine maiden searching for her missing onmyoji brother inside a mansion whose layout changes on every visit. Sound serves as a core mechanic: listening for noises helps identify the monsters, and luring them into trapped rooms to defeat them is a key tactic. Published by KADOKAWA and ABC Animation and developed by WODAN, the single-player game supports Japanese, English, and Chinese and is available on Nintendo Switch and PC for 1,650 yen (~$11). For fans of atmospheric horror, this tournament should be one to watch.
