Frostpunk Nintendo Switch Version Launches October 19, 2026
The Nintendo Switch version of Frostpunk has been confirmed for release on October 19, 2026, according to an announcement reported by Japanese outlet Famitsu. Pre-orders are currently being offered at a 30% discount until October 19 at 21:59. Frostpunk is a survival city-management game in which players oversee Earth’s last city in a frozen, extreme-cold world. The title originally launched on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC platforms, where it has earned a “very positive” user review rating on PC. A Switch release has now been locked in for later this month.
As a leader, the player must keep citizens alive while managing resources and building infrastructure so the community can endure. The harsh cold is overcome by deploying technology powered by steam. Depending on the player’s management and leadership skills, more advanced technologies can be developed, including self-powered automatons and airships. These systems form the backbone of Frostpunk’s survival loop, rewarding players who balance scarce resources against the ever-present threat of freezing temperatures in a world where humanity clings to a single remaining settlement.

Managing the community is central to the role of city leader. Players determine citizens’ labor habits, healthcare, and food supply while maintaining hope and satisfaction levels. They must decide whether to rule with compassion or through oppression. Throughout the city’s operation, players face decisions both large and small, including determining the fate of troubled citizens and responding to the demands of new factions. Some choices may seem minor, yet a series of accumulated decisions can lead to unexpected consequences for the settlement as a whole.

Players can also dispatch expedition teams to gather information and supplies from beyond the city. Such missions may reveal that other people exist outside the walls, offering a chance to increase the community’s population. Frostpunk: All Expansions Pack will release on the same day as the Switch version. The base game and expansion are already available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. For strategy fans who want to manage a city on the go, this Switch launch is one to keep on the radar.”
