20 New Xbox Games This Fall: GTA 6, Onimusha, Gears of War: E-Day
Famitsu has rounded up 20 notable titles scheduled for Xbox Series X|S from late August through November 2026. The list, presented in release-date order, mixes remaster collections, long-awaited franchise sequels and brand-new IPs from publishers including Capcom, Bandai Namco, Konami, Square Enix, EA and Rockstar Games. Headliners include Gears of War: E-Day, Onimusha: Way of the Sword (鬼武者 Way of the Sword) and Grand Theft Auto VI. For Xbox fans, the roundup also highlights franchises that originated on Xbox hardware before growing into cross-platform hits.
Among the biggest draws is Capcom’s Onimusha: Way of the Sword, the series’ first all-new entry in roughly 20 years, starring Miyamoto Musashi in a miasma-twisted early Edo-period Kyoto overrun by Genma demons. Remedy’s CONTROL Resonant continues the story of psychic protagonist Dylan Faden as he explores a gravity-warped Manhattan, while Rebel Wolves’ The Blood of Dawnwalker casts players as vampire-turned Coen in 14th-century Eastern Europe, racing a 30-day deadline to rescue his family. Star Wars Zero Company (EA, Bit Reactor) also brings clone-wars-era turn-based tactics to the platform.

The schedule is packed with remasters and collections. Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.2 pairs METAL GEAR SOLID 4 with PEACE WALKER (HD Edition), bundled with scenario books, master books and a digital soundtrack. Dynasty Warriors 2 with Xtreme Legends Remastered (真・三國無双2 with 猛将伝) rebuilds the classic musou title in Unreal Engine 5 with over 40 officers and new defensive systems. Tales of Eternia Remastered adds more than 40 quality-of-life tweaks, while Steins;Gate Reboot revamps the 2009 visual novel with a new worldline route, refined E-mote animation and fully re-recorded dialogue.

Xbox’s own Gears of War: E-Day arrives October 7, chronicling the three days after the Locust Horde’s first emergence, 14 years before the original game, with evolved cover mechanics and a rebuilt Horde Siege PvE mode; it is priced at ¥9800 (~$68) and supports Game Pass. The season’s centerpiece is Grand Theft Auto VI on November 19, following Jason and Lucia through Vice City and Leonida, with the Ultimate Edition adding premium vehicles, weapons and apparel. Priced at ¥9800 (~$68; Ultimate ¥12280, ~$85), GTA 6 caps what shapes up to be an unmissable fall on Xbox.
