Monster Hunter Wilds Update Adds Final Tempered King and Rare Monster
Capcom has released Version 1.041 for Monster Hunter Wilds, bringing a significant content update to the popular hunting game. The update, which went live on February 18, 2026, introduces the final Tempered King monster, Archbeld (Tempered King), along with multiple other high-level event quests. Additionally, players can now access quests featuring other ★10 Tempered King monsters and obtain the weapon design contest’s winning greatsword. The update also teases future content, including a special ★10 variant of Ppropol, the game’s least hunted monster, scheduled to arrive later in February. Most event quests will remain available as permanent content starting from February 18.
The centerpiece of the update is the Archbeld (Tempered King) event quest, which requires Hunter Rank 100 or higher and tasks players with hunting the monster in the Dragon Capital Ruins. Alongside this, four other ★10 Tempered King quests have been added: Re-Dau (Tempered King) in the Separated Sand Plains, Uz-Tuna (Tempered King) in the Scarlet Forest, Nu-Egdra (Tempered King) in the Oil Gushing Valley, and Jin-Dahad (Tempered King) in the Ice Mist Cliff. Each quest has specific field locations and requires HR100 or higher, offering challenging endgame content for veteran hunters.

Players can now undertake the “Hunter’s Eternal Dream” event quest to craft the weapon design contest’s grand prize winner: the greatsword “Shattering Mirror-Sealing Sword.” The update also includes several other event quests with varying requirements. A ★8 quest in the Dragon Valley Ruins requires HR41+ and tasks hunters with eliminating all targets, while a mysterious ★4 quest in the same location (available from February 25) asks players to defeat 15 unknown creatures with only HR16+ requirement. Another ★8 quest arrives on February 28 with similar conditions.

Starting February 28 at 09:00, hunters will face Ppropol (Tempered Individual) in a ★10 quest located in the Oil Gushing Valley. This special variant of the game’s least hunted monster will be available until March 19 at 08:59, providing a limited-time challenge. Monster Hunter Wilds continues to expand its content nearly a year after its February 28, 2025 launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms. With this substantial update delivering both immediate and upcoming content, Capcom demonstrates ongoing support for the hunting community through varied endgame challenges.
