KILL THE WITCH Baseball Bat Witch Game Enters Early Access
Korean indie developer SnakeEagle has launched the early access version of KILL THE WITCH, a 2D action platformer featuring a witch wielding a baseball bat. The game became available on February 18, 2026, for PC platforms with a launch discount running until March 4. This marks the first project from the two-person development team based in Korea. Players can currently access two out of six planned stages in the early access build, with a free demo also available that includes the first stage.
KILL THE WITCH presents a distinctive premise where humanity has chosen to transform into insects to avoid further suffering. The protagonist Yona is a witch who cannot undergo this transformation and instead fights back with a baseball bat. Core gameplay combines basic movement, jumping, and dodging with a special “home run” attack that sends enemies flying. The game also features a transformation mechanic as one of its key elements. According to the developers, the pixel art visuals contrast with the weighty narrative themes, creating what they describe as “a game with a gap, a slightly strange game.”
The early access version is priced at 1,300 yen (~$11.70) with a 10% launch discount bringing it to 1,170 yen (~$10.50) until March 4, 2026. The game supports multiple languages including Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean. SnakeEagle plans to use the early access period to gather player feedback and refine the experience before the full release. The development team consists of just two members—a developer and a musician—who aim to deliver a unique experience that leverages their small team’s strengths.
The full version of KILL THE WITCH is scheduled for release in early to mid 2027 and will include all six stages. The current early access build represents approximately one-third of the planned content. The game follows a linear stage-plus-boss structure with challenging gameplay that requires pattern recognition and precise controls. With its unusual premise combining baseball combat with dark fantasy themes and the promise of regular updates during early access, KILL THE WITCH offers an intriguing proposition for players seeking unconventional 2D action experiences.
