We Were Here Tomorrow Launches October 20 on PS5, Xbox, and PC
Total Mayhem Games has announced that We Were Here Tomorrow, the latest entry in its cooperative puzzle adventure series, will launch on October 20, 2026. The game is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms. The Rotterdam-based independent studio confirmed the date alongside a new trailer featuring creative director Martín Mittner, who discusses the game’s new setting, gameplay, and the evolution of the We Were Here franchise. Set in a retro-futuristic world, the title continues the series’ focus on two-player communication and cooperation.
This entry is set inside Norček Industries, a retro-futuristic facility where two explorers find themselves trapped after fate takes an unexpected turn. Relying on one another, they must uncover the secrets hidden within the facility and determine what “Tomorrow” will bring. According to the developers, the surroundings are brought to life through striking environments and a nostalgic synthwave soundtrack. While the game introduces a fresh world, it retains the atmosphere and gameplay that fans have come to know, with explorers encountering familiar motifs and callbacks to previous titles along the way.
Each explorer experiences the facility differently, making trust and communication essential. Players coordinate over a transceiver, combining their distinct perspectives to solve puzzles that challenge the laws of time, gravity, and space. Both partners are equipped with separate roles and dedicated high-tech tools, which must be used creatively and cooperatively to overcome obstacles that neither could handle alone. Total Mayhem Games says the game features puzzles that demand communication and cooperation in ways never before seen in the series.
Nearly a decade after the original free We Were Here debuted, the franchise has grown to five titles with more than 15 million cumulative players. We Were Here Tomorrow has already surpassed 350,000 wishlist registrations and is billed as the largest adventure in series history. It is priced at $19.99 (~¥145), with regional equivalents of £16.99 and €19.99. Total Mayhem Games now employs over 40 developers. For longtime fans, this fifth chapter looks to be a meaningful continuation of the cooperative formula.
