Power Pro Baseball 2026-2027 Launches June 11 with WBC Content
Konami Digital Entertainment has announced that Power Pro Baseball 2026-2027, the latest installment in the long-running baseball simulation series, will launch on June 11, 2026. The game will be available for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, with physical package pre-orders beginning on March 4, 2026. To commemorate the 2026 World Baseball Classic tournament, the game features special WBC-themed content including a dedicated scenario in the popular Success mode. The announcement also includes the first look at Shohei Ohtani’s in-game statistics, revealing impressive attributes for the two-way superstar.
The game celebrates the 2026 World Baseball Classic with two special modes. The Success mode features a scenario where players develop a protagonist drafted first overall into professional baseball, aiming to make the Japanese national team and compete for the WBC championship. This mode includes a Buddy System that allows players to train with and learn from their favorite athletes. The Legend Battle mode pits players against current and historical Japanese national team players in one-on-one batting duels, with the opportunity to unlock defeated opponents.
Shohei Ohtani’s in-game abilities have been detailed for the first time. As a pitcher, Ohtani retains his signature Sweeper pitch and boasts a fastball speed of 164km/h, placing him among the fastest pitchers in the game. As a batter, his Power rating reaches S98, and he gains the new special ability Intimidation, which reduces opposing pitchers’ effectiveness. These statistics reflect Ohtani’s real-world dominance as baseball’s premier two-way player and suggest he will be a formidable presence in both modes.
Power Pro Baseball 2026-2027 will be available in two editions. The standard edition (physical and digital) is priced at 8,470 yen (~$56), while the Power Edition (digital-only) costs 10,670 yen (~$70). Early purchasers receive bonus DLC including the 2026 opening theme brass band arrangement and historical opening song collections. The PS4 version will be digital-only, while Switch players can choose between physical and digital formats. With its WBC focus and detailed player statistics, this installment appears poised to deliver an authentic baseball experience for both casual fans and simulation enthusiasts when it arrives in June.
