Pokémon Sleep Launches Relaxation Exercise and Face Mask Collaboration
The Pokémon Company has announced multiple updates for its sleep-tracking app Pokémon Sleep, coinciding with World Sleep Day on March 13. The company revealed a new relaxation exercise called “Hogeta Exercise” featuring the Pokémon Fuecoco, along with a collaboration with face mask brand Lululun. Additional announcements include a Latias Research event scheduled for April 2026 and the results of a sleep study involving over 41,000 users. These updates continue the app’s mission to make sleep tracking more engaging through Pokémon-themed content and partnerships.
The Hogeta Exercise is a progressive muscle relaxation technique designed to help users unwind before sleep. The exercise involves tensing muscles and then releasing them while saying “hogeta” (Fuecoco’s signature sound), which helps relieve physical tension and create a relaxed state. A promotional video features Fuecoco alongside Japanese idol Morita Hikaru from Sakurazaka46, demonstrating the exercise through cute interactions and movements. The video’s background music uses the upcoming sleep-inducing sound “Walking in the South Area (Paldea)” that will be added to Pokémon Sleep.

The company published results from a sleep study involving 41,832 Pokémon Sleep users, combining data analysis with sleep brainwave measurements. The research found that nights when users performed muscle relaxation exercises showed reduced time to fall asleep, with particularly significant improvements for those who normally struggle with sleep onset. Compared to nights spent on typical pre-sleep activities like smartphone use, sleep efficiency increased by 3.2%. Additionally, a Latias Research event will launch in April 2026, where players can collect “Latias’s Down” to exchange for “Latias’s Incense” to research the Legendary Pokémon’s various sleep poses.

Pokémon Sleep is collaborating with face mask brand Lululun on two types of face masks themed after the app’s fields: “Wakakusa Main Island” and “Cyan Beach.” The masks feature Pokémon like Snorlax, Pikachu, and Eevee and contain botanical ingredients inspired by each field’s vegetation. Priced at ¥1,100 (~$8) for a 7-pack, they launch March 25 on Lululun’s official online store. The Pokémon Company is also partnering with Eisai Co., Ltd. on sleep education initiatives, including distributing the picture book “Snorlax’s Dream” to medical facilities nationwide to promote healthy sleep habits. This multifaceted approach shows Pokémon Sleep’s commitment to blending entertainment with genuine wellness benefits.
