Outbound Physical Editions Announced for PS5 and Nintendo Platforms
Sega has announced physical edition releases for the cozy survival game Outbound (アウトバウンド) on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo Switch. The game, developed by Square Glade Games and published by Silver Lining Interactive, will receive physical distribution in Japan through Sega. Outbound is an open-world exploration title set in a near-future utopia where players live a self-sufficient lifestyle by customizing their camper van. The game features no enemy encounters, focusing instead on relaxed survival and crafting mechanics with support for up to four players in multiplayer mode.
Players in Outbound will extensively modify their camper van using a modular building system, customizing everything from interior layouts to roof installations with paint, decorations, and furniture. The game emphasizes renewable energy management, requiring players to utilize solar, wind, and hydro power to supply electricity to their electric vehicle. Natural resources can be harvested and processed to craft workbenches, tools, and even new materials through resource refinement and combination. Gardening systems allow cultivation of plants and mushrooms, with harvested crops providing nutrition through cooking or direct consumption.
Square Glade Games is a Dutch indie studio founded by Tobi and Marc, whose previous title Above Snakes sold over 60,000 copies within six months of release. Outbound has already achieved significant interest, reaching the top 50 wishlisted games on PC platforms. A demo version became available on February 18, 2026, allowing players to experience the game’s relaxed survival mechanics. The studio focuses on blending community, creativity, and technology to create unique gaming experiences, with Outbound representing their latest project in this direction.

The game is classified as CERO A (suitable for all ages) in Japan. Digital versions for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo Switch will be distributed by Silver Lining Interactive, while PC and Xbox Series X|S versions will be handled directly by Square Glade Games.
