Original PlayStation DUALSHOCK Controller Pouch Launches March 17
Japanese stationery and novelty goods company funbox has announced the release of a silicone pouch shaped like the original PlayStation DUALSHOCK controller. The product faithfully recreates the iconic design of the first PlayStation analog controller, complete with the signature △○×□ buttons. The pouch features a zipper on the back for storing small items, and comes with an attached plug-shaped charm and strap that recreates the nostalgic wired controller aesthetic. The DUALSHOCK-shaped pouches will be available in two color variants starting March 17, 2026, through various retail channels.
The silicone pouch meticulously replicates the original DUALSHOCK controller’s dimensions and shape, measuring approximately 97mm in height, 155mm in width, and 59mm in depth. Every detail from the controller’s iconic PlayStation Shapes buttons to its overall form has been accurately reproduced. The included plug-shaped charm and strap are specifically designed to represent the wired connection of the original controller, adding an authentic touch for PlayStation enthusiasts. The pouch’s functional design includes a zipper compartment that allows users to store small personal items while showcasing their gaming nostalgia.
The DUALSHOCK-shaped pouches will be available in two color variants: DUALSHOCK Gray and DUALSHOCK Black. The retail price is set at 1,980 yen before tax, or 2,178 yen including tax. This converts to approximately $18 (~¥130) for international audiences. Alongside the controller pouches, funbox is also re-releasing their previously popular PlayStation console-shaped silicone pouch, which features a carabiner attachment for clipping onto bags or zippers. The console pouch will be available in one color variant priced at 1,400 yen before tax, or 1,540 yen including tax, which is about $13 (~¥94).
The DUALSHOCK controller pouches will launch on March 17, 2026, with sales beginning at variety goods stores, bookstores, stationery shops, and electronics retailers across Japan. The funbox official online shop will start sales at 12:00 on the same day. The company notes that availability may vary by retailer and recommends checking with individual stores for stock information. The re-release of the PlayStation console-shaped pouch is scheduled for late March 2026.
