OCTOPinbs: Action-Focused Firefighting Social Deduction Game Announced
Aniplex has announced OCTOPinbs, a unique online multiplayer action game developed by Laceengle and tri-Ace, scheduled for release in Spring 2026 on PC platforms. The game presents an innovative twist on social deduction mechanics by eliminating conversation-based deception entirely, focusing instead on action-oriented gameplay. Set in firefighting scenarios, players take on roles as either firefighters trying to extinguish blazes or as undercover “artists” secretly setting fires while disguised among the rescue team. This approach creates a fresh take on the genre where observation and physical action replace verbal trickery as the primary gameplay elements.
OCTOPinbs distinguishes itself by removing traditional conversation-based deception from social deduction games. Firefighter players must extinguish fires while observing their teammates’ movements across interconnected rooms, looking for suspicious behavior that might reveal the hidden arsonists. The “artists” disguised as firefighters can secretly set fires to increase the map’s blaze percentage. When suspected, artists can reveal their true identity and attack, transforming the game into a PvP action encounter. This mechanic allows artists to turn the tables on firefighters who get too close to discovering them.

Firefighters win by either reducing the map’s fire percentage to zero or by identifying and capturing artists in special containers called Octojars. Artists, on the other hand, achieve victory by either raising the fire percentage to 100% or by capturing all firefighters in Octojars. Artists can accumulate power by setting fires, which enables them to perform stronger actions when they reveal themselves. The game supports 3-10 players exclusively in online multiplayer, creating dynamic matches where team composition and observation skills determine success.

Developed by Laceengle and tri-Ace, with Aniplex handling publishing, OCTOPinbs will launch with support for eight languages including Japanese, English, Chinese Simplified, Portuguese, German, Korean, Spanish, and French. A teaser trailer has been released alongside the announcement, with the game scheduled for Spring 2026 availability on PC platforms. The collaboration between these established developers suggests a polished action experience. This innovative approach to social deduction could appeal to players who prefer action over conversation-based deception mechanics.
