Million Live! Roco Voice Actress Shares 9th Anniversary Reflections
The Idolmaster Million Live! Theater Days (アイドルマスター ミリオンライブ！ シアターデイズ) celebrated its ninth anniversary on June 29, 2026. To mark the occasion, Famitsu published an interview with Atsuki Nakamura, the voice actress behind the idol Roco. In the conversation, Nakamura discussed her journey with the character, from her initial audition to her reflections on the franchise’s growth. She described feeling that each anniversary arrives in the blink of an eye and expressed gratitude to the producers whose ongoing support has sustained the title over the years.
Nakamura revealed that she originally auditioned for the role of Arisa Matsuda before being encouraged by staff to also try out for Roco on the same day. She recalled performing with little preparation, working from Roco’s profile and lines on the spot, and being asked about her singing experience afterward. Describing Roco as a 15-year-old with a distinctive way with words and a stubborn streak, Nakamura noted that she works to dig into the feelings behind Roco’s unusual phrasing. She also observed that Roco’s smiles have multiplied across card art and CD covers, inspiring her to portray the character more endearingly.
Among the songs Nakamura holds dear are STEREOPHONIC ISOTONIC, her most-performed solo track, and Monday’s Cream Soda from Jelly PoP Beans, the unit produced by Roco. She also cited COLORS ON CANVAS!, written for Roco’s featured performance at the 11th live, which was postponed before finally taking place. On the anime front, Nakamura praised an episode designed by Roco herself, noting its chrysalis-to-butterfly theme suited Million Live perfectly, and highlighted the reveal of the MILLIONSTARS name’s origin.
Nakamura shared her long-stated wish for a live featuring all 52 members of the 765 Million All Stars, as well as performances across all 47 prefectures of Japan and overseas. She also praised the 9th anniversary song’s stylish arrangement, which plays on the Japanese word for nine, “kyuu.” She closed by thanking producers for continuing to support the franchise and urged them to stay healthy.
