D2 Megaten Launches The Hopefuls Event with New Characters Nanashi and Asahi
Sega’s mobile RPG D2 Megaten has launched a new event titled “The Hopefuls – Future Observing Savior” starting March 13, 2026. The event introduces two new 5-star characters: Nanashi and Asahi, alongside returning demons Nux and Ananta. This ranking-based event challenges players to collect items through quests in the event area, with rankings determining rewards. The event is divided into two phases with separate individual rankings, running from March 13-20 for the first phase and March 21-27 for the second phase, with reward collection available until April 3, 2026.
Nanashi is designed as a high-speed field attacker who can prevent enemy revivals with the “Yūkaku Ten” field. His passive skill “God-Slaying Soul” activates at the start of his turn, restoring 3 MP to himself, applying Tarukaja+ to all allies, and deploying the Yūkaku Ten field for one turn. While this field is active, defeated enemies cannot be revived. Additionally, whenever Nanashi or allies perform magic attacks, they inflict Curse status with 80% base probability, apply 2 stacks of Debilitate to all enemies, and deal Ice-element magic damage with 100 power. Nanashi can withstand death three times with 3000 HP each time, making him durable as a frontline demon.

Asahi serves as a battlefield controller with exceptional durability and support capabilities. Her passive skill “Sincere Heart” activates when linked effects or active skills are used during battle, deploying the “Jihui Earth” field for three turns. This field nullifies attacks that ignore death resistance. When allies other than Asahi receive strike, magic, or special-type attacks while the field is active, all allies gain 2 stacks of Enhancement and recover 30% HP. Asahi can withstand death five times with 3000 HP each time. Furthermore, whenever Asahi or allies withstand death, all enemies take 20% of their current HP as damage (max 2000) and lose 2 MP.
The Hopefuls event follows a ranking format where players compete based on collected items. Nanashi’s active skills include “Summon: Dagda” which deals 50% of target’s max HP as damage (max 5000) and removes enemy enhancements, and “Summon: Mermaid” which hits all enemies twice with Ice-element magic damage while lowering their Physical/Ice affinities. Asahi’s skills include “Summon: Kahaku” dealing Fire-element damage with Fire Pierce and applying 5 Debilitate stacks, and “Summon: Cleopatra” hitting a single enemy twice with Bless-element damage while lowering their Bless affinity by three stages. Both characters offer strategic depth for team compositions during the event period. The event’s dual-phase ranking system should provide extended engagement for dedicated players.
