Classic SRPG Huan Shi Lu Remake Reveals Multiple Endings and World Details

The classic strategy RPG Huan Shi Lu Remake has been officially revealed with new details, including the introduction of multiple endings and a comprehensive breakdown of the seven major factions inhabiting its world. Originally beloved by countless players as a timeless tactical SRPG, this remake fully inherits the original’s vast世界观 (worldbuilding) while deepening character backstories and branching narrative paths. The developers have unveiled the continent of Pharusia and its warring powers, inviting players to experience an epic adventure woven from war, destiny, and conspiracy. The game is currently in active development, with more details on gameplay systems and in-engine footage to be shared in the future.
The remake directly addresses a long-standing fan request by introducing multiple endings for the first time. The original title featured only a single conclusion, which many players considered a遗憾 (regret) over the years. In the remake, player choices and actions will determine which ending unfolds. By meeting specific conditions, players can trigger different story branches and witness vastly different fates for each character. This system promises to add significant replay value and allow players to actively shape the narrative, offering a resolution to the story that was previously unavailable.

The story is set in the continent of Pharusia, once home to the ancient Elf race. After the world-changing Demon God War 1,000 years ago, peace never truly arrived. Today, seven major powers vie for influence. The Vosfeita Republic, an inclusive Elf-led republic ruled by King Creos, serves as the continent’s leading power. Protagonist Leonaid, once a Vosfeita knight commander, was betrayed on the battlefield and left to form his own mercenary group. The Lars Empire is a human empire with the continent’s strongest military, while the Nakanaru fortress-city houses the wary Wingfolk and their taboo “Black Wing” legend.

Unlike conventional RPG heroes, protagonist Leonaid is a pragmatic, self-interested realist with an amoral streak that makes him seem more anti-hero than hero. He builds a mercenary group that includes Tyna, a exiled princess of the fallen Lars Empire seeking to reclaim her kingdom; Rat, a Wingfolk youth fleeing persecution for his brother’s black wings; Howl, a Beastman warrior from Gira who left to prevent his homeland’s invasion plans; and Hu, a half-breed former soldier from the agricultural nation of Bagram. The game’s反英雄叙事 (anti-hero narrative) and richly developed characters are central to its unique appeal. This remake looks poised to deliver the deep tactical RPG experience that fans of the original have been waiting years for.
