China Approves 7 Imported Games Including TGA Winner ARC Raiders

China’s National Press and Publication Administration has released its April 2026 batch of imported game approvals, granting licenses to seven titles. Among the approved games is ARC Raiders (弧光猎人), which won the Best Multiplayer Game award at The Game Awards 2025. Other titles receiving approval include Monopoly: Global Rich (大富翁:全球首富), Brotato (土豆兄弟), and Besiege (围攻). The announcement continues the steady cadence of game licensing that has characterized 2026 so far.
ARC Raiders is developed by Embark Studios, a subsidiary of Nexon. The company has formally signed an agreement with Tencent, granting the Chinese technology firm exclusive publishing and distribution rights for the game in mainland China. The title’s recognition at The Game Awards 2025, combined with Tencent’s extensive publishing infrastructure, positions ARC Raiders for a significant launch in the Chinese market.

In addition to new approvals, 13 existing titles had their licensing information amended this month, including name changes and operator adjustments. These modifications reflect routine administrative management within China’s game approval framework. Since the start of 2026, authorities have issued a total of 621 game licenses — 600 for domestic titles and 21 for imported games.
Industry analysts cited in the report note that the normalization of license approvals is helping stabilize market expectations for game publishers in China. This steady pace could accelerate new game release schedules, particularly for developers and operators with strong track records of compliance and long-term运营. The continued regularization of the approval process is a welcome trend for both domestic and international publishers aiming to reach Chinese gamers.
