The developer acknowledged the issue in a recent statement and confirmed that a fix patch is on the way. The bug specifically occurs when players manually set three graphics options to their highest tier simultaneously. Ubisoft has also offered a temporary workaround for players who want to maintain a smooth 60fps experience while waiting for the official update.
Ubisoft has released a statement addressing the issue directly to PC players. The recommended workaround is to reset the overall graphics settings to any of the available preset options and avoid manually setting ray tracing, BVH, and terrain quality to “Ultra High” individually. Using the built-in preset configurations avoids triggering the framerate cap entirely. This allows players to maintain a stable 60fps experience, particularly during the game’s signature naval combat sequences which benefit most from smooth performance.
The 30fps lock activates under very specific conditions — only when ray tracing, BVH, and terrain quality are all manually toggled to “Ultra High” one by one. Interestingly, applying the same settings through a preset configuration does not cause the problem, suggesting the issue is tied to the manual override process itself rather than the underlying graphical values. Ubisoft has confirmed that an official patch is already in development and will be released soon to permanently resolve this framerate restriction.
