World of Tanks: Journey Debuts at ChinaJoy 2026 With Agent Combat

At ChinaJoy 2026, held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, 360 Games showcased World of Tanks, World of Warships, and its most anticipated new title, World of Tanks: Journey (《坦克世界:征程》), at booth N2-05. The new game in the World of Tanks IP made its first offline public appearance at the show. According to a hands-on preview from the event, the title breaks from the historical realism of the original series — authentic WWII tank models, armor angles, and precise shell penetration — in favor of faster-paced, team-oriented combat. It keeps the core tank driving experience intact while raising the tension and excitement of every match.
The most significant change is that players select an Agent before choosing a vehicle. Agents currently fall into three categories: offensive, defensive, and sniper. Offensive agents lead frontline pushes, defensive agents serve as mobile strongholds, and sniper agents strike priority targets from long range. Agent combinations and skill combos are key to turning matches around. Each agent also owns two distinct exclusive vehicles. For example, the agent Rocket fields the T-62AV, whose Flame Path skill dashes forward while leaving a burning trail that ignites vehicles and ground, and Object 287, whose Towing Hook Anchor limits enemy movement and pulls targets closer. This dual layer of agent abilities and tank skills significantly broadens the tactical dimension.

The game includes a specialization system for agents, letting players shape their own playstyle by choosing and allocating specialization points — whether boosting offensive power to become a battlefield finisher or improving survivability to withstand heavy fire. Tanks receive a deep modification system that enables fine-tuned adjustments across performance metrics. Players can, for instance, sacrifice turret traverse speed for higher shell damage or faster reload. Mods come with color-coded rarity tiers, and each tank can equip only one orange legendary mod, preventing players from stacking top-tier parts for a raw stat advantage. This trade-off-driven logic turns every tank into a personalized vehicle tailored to each player’s habits and preferences.

Beyond traditional team deathmatch, the playable build includes modes such as Assault and Kill Confirmed. On August 1, the booth held a theme day event, with game producer Artyom Yantsevich on site to share development stories and future plans. Star KOLs Pete 174 and China Boy — whose self-requested title of “Universe Invincible Spiral Thunderbolt Handsome Guy” drew laughs — joined fan interaction and a KOL community match. CJ-exclusive merchandise, including itabags, ID badges, and camping tables, was given away. For those who missed it, the demo zone remains open from July 31 through August 3, with coser interactions and stage activities continuing throughout. This debut suggests World of Tanks: Journey may offer tank fans something genuinely fresh — one to keep an eye on.
