The Idolmaster SideM Reveals First Console Game for Switch 2, Switch
On September 13 and 14, 2026, the solo live event “THE IDOLM@STER SideM 11th STAGE ~EVER EVER@FTER~” was held. On the event’s second day, Bandai Namco Entertainment announced that the SideM franchise will receive its first-ever home console game, in development for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. Prior to the announcement, an interview was conducted with Yukie Ishizawa of Bandai Namco Entertainment and Shunsuke Fujita of D3 Publisher. The two discussed how the partnership came together and what fans can expect from the series’ debut console project.
Ishizawa, who builds and protects SideM’s worldview and oversees its idol stories, is joined by D3 Publisher’s Fujita, who serves as producer for the home console title — his first time working on the IP. The game is described as a fundamentally story-driven adventure. At the beginning, the president of 315 Production assigns the producer a new mission: to build the next stage aiming for an even greater “best.” Players choose one leader unit from all 16 units and work toward a major stage one year later.

The core highlight is sheer volume. Each unit has its own main story route, and each of the 16 routes is said to match a “long-form” 315 PASSION CONTENTS story of roughly one hour of auto-play. Rather than all 16 units chasing one shared goal, each is given a common concept and then pursues its own envisioned path. The scenario sits on the same world line as 315 PASSION CONTENTS. The main story is planned to be fully voiced, while smaller communication scenes will be partially voiced.

New costume designs were handled by original character designer FiFS. The theme color is a cream tone rather than refined white, suggesting brightness and limitless potential, with green and navy accents and unit-color badges. The keyword “MMM” appears throughout the outfits. Ishizawa credited the project’s launch to producer support, citing the enthusiasm of the 10th anniversary tour that ran from 2024 to July 2025. No release date has been set, and both hardware versions are said to offer the same experience. For a franchise over a decade old, finally getting a home console entry is a meaningful step worth watching.
