TGS2026 Family Game Park Welcomes Sanrio, 19 Playable Games
The Computer Entertainment Suppliers Association (CESA) has announced that Family Game Park 2026 will run across the September 19 to 21 public days of Tokyo Game Show 2026 at TKP Tokyo Bay Makuhari Hall, located next to Makuhari Messe in Chiba. The free-entry exhibition area is aimed at children in junior high school and younger, together with an accompanying guardian. This year Sanrio characters have been appointed official Family Game Park ambassadors, joining sanapii, editor-in-chief of the children’s game magazine TV Game Magazine, whose appointment was announced in August. CESA also published area maps, content details, and the experience schedule on its official site.
Sanrio, which operates its own game brand Sanrio Games, will bring its characters to the venue as the newly created official ambassador. Panels featuring Sanrio characters such as Hello Kitty and Pompompurin, plus sanapii, will be displayed for commemorative photos. A collaboration stage marking Tokyo Game Show’s 30th anniversary will gather CESA’s official mascot Sesaaurus, first Family Game Park ambassador sanapii, and Sanrio characters. Sanrio characters and sanapii will also appear in the Occupation BOOK handed out on site. The participating Sanrio characters rotate daily, so appearances differ by date.

The Asobiba area gathers the latest age-appropriate games and related products from multiple companies for hands-on play, listing 19 titles in total. These include Sanrio Party Land, Super Bomberman Collection, Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, Powerful Pro Baseball 2026-2027, Puyo Puyo eSports, Once Upon a Katamari, Rockman: Dual Override, and Tamagotchi no Puchipuchi Omisecchi Omaichido~sama! Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. The Manabiba area offers workshops where children learn about game industry work, covering music creation with KORG Gadget for Nintendo Switch, programming taught through Puyo Puyo, and a program where scanned drawings become 3D vehicles that race.

Exclusive acrylic marker charms in six types will be sold for ¥500 (about $3.40) per draw, available for the three days only and redeemed with a special coin at the venue’s Information desk. A stamp rally invites visitors to collect six stamps for a prize, limited to one entry per person. The event also hosts its first merchandise sales area, with lineup details to be announced later. To celebrate TGS’s 30th anniversary, a Family (F) Gara (G) Pon (P) lottery offers 30 winners prizes for completing an on-site survey. Entry to Family Game Park 2026, organized by CESA, is free. For families, this focused, kid-friendly zone looks like a smart addition to an increasingly crowded show floor.
