Super Robot Wars Y Expansion Pack DLC Launches April 22 with New Content
Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced that the paid downloadable content “Expansion Pack” for Super Robot Wars Y will be released on April 22, 2026. This major DLC adds content from six new anime series to the strategy simulation RPG, including eight playable units, 26 area missions, and one support member. The expansion also introduces a new high-difficulty mode called MASTER for players seeking greater challenges. A promotional video showcasing both the expansion pack and the free update ver1.3.0 has been simultaneously released to highlight the new content.
The Expansion Pack brings six new series to Super Robot Wars Y: Ideon, Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack – Beltorchika’s Children, The iDOLM@STER XENOGLOSSIA, Star Driver Movie: The Takuto of the Radiance, CROSSANGE: Rondo of Angel and Dragon, and Eureka Seven: Hi-Evolution. Players will gain access to eight specific units including Ideon, Hi-ν Gundam/Nightingale, IMBER, Tauburn Compartment, Villkiss, and Urushilagna/Nirvash Z. The MASTER difficulty mode significantly increases enemy strength while imposing penalties like higher unit modification costs, reduced experience gain, and restrictions on using spirit commands during enemy turns.
Alongside the paid expansion, a free update ver1.3.0 will be released on April 21, 2026. This update includes three free area missions: “Revolution War Record” (3 episodes) serving as a prequel story, “NOAH BRAND War Chronicles” (3 episodes) bridging the gap before Chapter 07, and the first episode “Contact” from the expansion pack that all players can access. The update also unlocks two limited missions: “From Another World” and “The Mission to Bear,” which reward players with the Cybuster and the protagonist unit from Super Robot Wars V. Various stability improvements are also included in this update.
Super Robot Wars Y is a strategy simulation RPG that brings together robots from various anime series to battle common enemies. Players experience crossover stories, enjoy robot battle animations, and strengthen their favorite units and pilots. The base game was released on August 28, 2025, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC platforms. To use the Expansion Pack, players must own the base game and update to the latest version. The DLC is sold separately and not included in any digital deluxe editions or previous DLC bundles. This substantial content addition should provide significant replay value for fans of the long-running series.
