Resident Evil Requiem Adds Photo Mode with March 27 Update
Capcom has released a major update for Resident Evil Requiem (Biohazard Requiem) on March 27, 2026, adding a highly requested photo mode feature to the survival horror title. The update also addresses several technical issues that were affecting gameplay progression. Resident Evil Requiem originally launched on February 27, 2026, and features dual protagonists Grace Ashcroft and veteran agent Leon S. Kennedy. The game is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC platforms, continuing the series’ tradition of blending horror and action elements.
The new photo mode allows players to pause gameplay at any moment to capture their favorite scenes. Users can access the feature through the pause menu and then adjust camera positioning, focus settings, and various visual effects. Additional customization options include filters, lens distortion effects, frames, and stickers to enhance captured images. This gives players creative control to compose their ideal shots during tense horror sequences or dramatic story moments, preserving memorable gameplay experiences.
Alongside the photo mode addition, the March 27 update addresses several technical issues. Most notably, it fixes a progression-blocking bug that occurred under specific conditions, preventing players from advancing through certain sections. The update also improves character facial expressions during key story events to better convey emotional depth. Additional minor fixes include text corrections in various language versions and optimizations for smoother gameplay performance across all supported platforms.
Resident Evil Requiem is currently available with the standard edition priced at $60 (~¥430) and a deluxe edition at $67 (~¥480). The game’s original soundtrack, featuring 30 tracks including the main theme “Through the Darkness,” is also available separately for $10 (~¥72). The survival horror title carries a mature rating suitable for players 18 and older.
