Reanimal Hits One Million Sales, Three-Chapter DLC Expansion Revealed

Tarsier Studios’ horror adventure title Reanimal has surpassed one million copies sold worldwide since launch, according to the latest financial report from Embracer Group. The company highlighted the game as one of the most successful new IP debuts in its recent portfolio, noting that it received strong acclaim from both players and media. Embracer CEO Phil Rogers specifically praised the development team, stating that this amazing team has captured players’ hearts with this new IP and possesses tremendous potential for long-term growth. The company also described Reanimal as a key growth driver within its quarterly releases, signaling that Embracer views this title as a franchise with lasting value.
The financial report reaffirmed that Reanimal has performed solidly as a new IP across both PC and console platforms, with sales exceeding one million units. Rogers’ remarks indicate that Embracer now views Reanimal as a franchise with long-term value rather than a standalone project, describing it as one of the most successful new IP launches in recent memory. The game’s strong commercial and critical reception has positioned it as a cornerstone property within Embracer’s content portfolio moving forward.

Publisher Embracer has confirmed the post-launch content plan for Reanimal. The major expansion, titled Expanded World, will be released in three separate chapters. Chapter 1 is scheduled for release during the second quarter of the 2026/27 fiscal year, which corresponds to July through September 2026. This DLC will extend the base game’s narrative, introducing multiple new protagonists, new enemy types, and an entirely new region for players to explore. The expansion appears designed to meaningfully expand the game world rather than simply add cosmetic content.

Chapter 2 will continue the story established in the first expansion, allowing players to explore additional new areas and encounter fresh enemy variants. It is expected to launch between October and December 2026. Chapter 3, the final installment, is projected for release between January and March 2027. Additionally, Embracer reported that its completed project costs for the quarter reached 633 million SEK, primarily attributed to the launches of Reanimal, Screamer, and Ride 6. With a well-defined content roadmap and strong early sales, Reanimal is shaping up to be a franchise worth watching closely.
