NetEase’s AAA Title Gui Tang Reveals 19 Minutes of Brutal Gameplay

24 Entertainment, the studio behind NARAKA: BLADEPOINT, has released an extended 19-minute gameplay demonstration for its upcoming narrative-driven single-player action adventure title Gui Tang (归唐). The video showcases an early build of the game, featuring a complete playthrough of a level called “Shazhou City.” According to the developers, the footage was captured and recorded by the development team itself and does not represent the final quality of the product. The demonstration offers a thorough look at the game’s combat system, stealth mechanics, and cinematic scene transitions, all woven together in a single continuous mission.
The gameplay demonstrates a seamless fusion of realistic combat and stealth mechanics. Players can utilize light attacks, heavy attacks, dodges, blocks, parries, counterattacks, and execution moves, all of which form a fluid yet brutal combat system. At this point in the story, the protagonist is attempting to escape pursuing enemy forces after a sudden catastrophic event strikes his hometown. His sole objective is to rush home, find his son, and flee with him. The video also includes a tense chase sequence, adding to the urgency and cinematic feel of the experience.

Gui Tang is being developed by 24 Entertainment, a studio under NetEase’s Thunderfire (Leihuo) division. The game is described as a third-person linear action-adventure title. The studio is best known for NARAKA: BLADEPOINT, a popular multiplayer battle royale game. While no release date has been announced yet, the early gameplay footage suggests a strong focus on cinematic storytelling and visceral combat. A batch of new screenshots has also been released alongside the video, offering a closer look at the game’s visual direction.

The 19-minute showcase gives fans of action games a substantial taste of what Gui Tang has to offer. The combination of visceral combat, stealth elements, and emotionally driven narrative creates a compelling foundation. It will be interesting to see how 24 Entertainment transitions from multiplayer to a single-player experience with this ambitious project. This is definitely one to keep an eye on for fans of hardcore action games.
