Kokoro Clover Mugen Chapter Announced for PC With Roguelite Arena Mode
Phoenixx has announced that Kokoro Clover: Mugen Chapter (ココロクローバー ムゲン編), the latest installment in the ‘Kokoro Clover’ visual novel action series inspired by Sunday morning anime, is in development for PC. The game’s official store page went live on August 6, 2026. The announcement was accompanied by the debut of the opening theme ‘Mugen☆Spirit,’ the first theme song in the series’ history. The new entry also introduces roguelite action elements with a battle-focused Arena Mode, while retaining the series’ family-friendly charm designed to be enjoyable even for children and players less familiar with games.
The Kokoro Clover series continues with this third release, following ‘Season 1’ and the short episode ‘Super Ancient Invaders!!’. Built around the concept of an anime you’d catch on a Sunday morning, the series aims to be fun for kids and newcomers to gaming. The new title’s Story Mode spans 14 episodes following protagonist Trefy, joined by spirit allies, friends made along the way, and mischievous villains who are hard to truly hate. Boss battles appear throughout the story and can be overcome by the player, though story-focused players can skip these encounters entirely.

Arena Mode is being implemented as a battle-focused mode for the new entry, adopting roguelite action elements. In each battle, players use randomly granted cards and abilities to fend off wave after wave of incoming opponents. The mode also caters to players looking for a deeper game experience, complementing the series’ mission to welcome audiences of all ages and play styles. This dual approach lets the title serve both casual fans of its narrative and those who want a proper gameplay challenge.

The opening theme ‘Mugen☆Spirit’ features lyrics, composition, and vocals by Hideaki Takatori, a singer-songwriter known for theme songs such as Ninpuu Sentai Hurricaneger and Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL II, as well as numerous Precure-related compositions. Arrangement is handled by Hiroaki Kogashima. Developed by Hikoteru, Kokoro Clover: Mugen Chapter is a single-player title supporting Japanese and English on PC. Release date and pricing have not yet been announced. A sale celebrating the fourth anniversary of earlier series titles begins August 7 at 0:00. With its series-first theme song and new roguelite combat, this one looks well worth watching for fans of Sunday morning-style adventures.
