Idolmaster IWSF2026 Day 3 Recap: Cross-Brand xR Live KYOUMEI
The Idolmaster series held its 20th anniversary cross-brand xR live event, THE IDOLM@STER 20th Anniversary MORE RE@LITY LIVE IDOL WORLD SUPER FESTIVAL 2026 (IWSF2026), at Keio Arena Tokyo from July 24 to 26, 2026. The third and final day, titled KYOUMEI (Resonance), featured a setlist centered around songs with heavy audience call-and-response elements. Selected idols from across the franchise’s various brands performed 23 songs, with real-time interaction between the stage and the audience creating an electrifying atmosphere. The event was part of the closing celebrations for the Idolmaster franchise’s 20th anniversary year.
The opening number Kiramekirari, performed by Yayoi Takatsuki and Ai Hidaka, immediately set the tone with thunderous cheers from the audience. Throughout the evening, idols from different branches of the franchise performed together in unique combinations. Songs like Campus mode!! and GR@TITUDE brought together performers from 765PRO ALLSTARS, Project Luminous, and other brands. The I Climax Medley segment featured seven songs back-to-back, including THE IDOLM@STER, GOIN!!!, Beyond The Dream, and Migratory Echoes, showcasing the breadth of the franchise’s musical catalog with rotating casts of performers.

The evening included a heartfelt birthday celebration for Kokoro Okushimi, who shared her special day with the audience. Light-hearted moments included Tsubasa Kashiwagi improvising the lyric Lovely 28 years old as a playful twist on the original Lovely 17 years old during Meruhen Debut. Mano Sakuragi, who had been injured the previous month and whose participation was uncertain, delivered an emotional thank you to concerned fans. The main finale featured center idols from each brand performing shy→shining, followed by the 20th anniversary commemorative song Ai NEED YOU (FOR WONDERFUL STORY), with lyrics displayed on screen as the audience sang along.

As the concert drew to a close, a joint xR event between 765 Production and 961 Production was announced, signaling continued expansion of the franchise’s live entertainment offerings. The entire event demonstrated how live concerts in the Idolmaster series have evolved through xR technology to create immersive cross-brand experiences. For fans of rhythm games and idol culture, this performance captured the essence of what makes the series special after two decades – the connection between performers and their audience. This is definitely one to watch for anyone following the future of virtual live entertainment.
