Dynasty Warriors 2 with Xtreme Legends Remastered Demo Hits Sept 24
Koei Tecmo Games has announced that a playable demo for Dynasty Warriors 2 with Xtreme Legends Remastered will be distributed starting September 24, 2026. The announcement was made during a September 20 stage event at Tokyo Game Show 2026, streamed as part of the special stage titled “Ask Producer Sho.” According to the publisher, the demo offers content almost identical to the trial version playable on the TGS show floor. The event was held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba and ran from September 17 to 20, with the originally planned September 21 date cancelled in light of Typhoon No. 25.
During the stage, producer Tomohiko Sho answered questions from attendees. On the differences between the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 versions, Sho explained that the two differ in frame rate and resolution. The PS5 version runs at 60fps, while the Switch 2 version delivers 30fps or higher, reaching up to a maximum of 60fps. He added that adjustments were made so that both versions feel as similar as possible during play. The stage served as the primary venue for these technical clarifications.
When asked whether there are plans to remaster other Warriors series titles beyond this one, or other Omega Force games, Sho acknowledged that he understands there are many such requests. However, he explained that such decisions depend on the sales performance of this title. Sho also stated that he wants to consider various possibilities going forward, not limited to the Dynasty Warriors series. His comments framed any future remaster projects as conditional rather than confirmed.
Asked about 2027 marking Omega Force’s 30th anniversary, Sho, who also serves as the brand head, prefaced his response as a personal sentiment. He floated possibilities such as a livestream aimed at long-time supporters, a Warriors series concert or live event, or releasing a new game to mark the occasion, and encouraged fans to send in their wishes while there is still time. Questions about sequels to Dynasty Warriors Origins, Samurai Warriors, and Warriors Orochi drew no comment, though Sho noted that Origins was conceived as a three-part trilogy from the start.
