CONQUISTA: Tide of Wills — Citizen-Led Colony Sim Arrives Summer 2027
Shueisha Games has announced CONQUISTA: Tide of Wills, a colony simulation × 4X strategy title developed by Micro Simulation, set to launch on PC in summer 2027. The announcement came with a debut trailer and the opening of wishlist registration on the game’s PC store page. The project began as a solo development effort before Shueisha Games stepped in to support production, gradually expanding the team to bring the game to its formal reveal. The title is currently making its first playable appearance at gamescom 2026 in Cologne, where attendees can experience the build ahead of the wider public.
Every resident in CONQUISTA has a name, a job, and a daily routine. Citizens wake, work, shop at markets, and gather in taverns, and those small routines collectively shape the town’s economy and society — eventually influencing national history and even borderlines. The developer highlights emergent scenarios driven purely by citizen will: tavern gossip sparking rebellion that redraws borders, explorers departing for unknown lands without being asked, merchants crossing frontiers in search of profit, and townsfolk building new cities and declaring independence. Even minor stories between citizens can blossom into alliances.

The core loop begins with clearing forests, gathering resources, and building houses before expanding the town further. As the population grows, new industries emerge, drawing in more people and scaling the experience from a small settlement into full national governance. Other nations pursue their own agendas, and players may choose tribute, alliances, or trade — or raise armies and seize territory. When tensions between nations reach their limit, battles erupt as hundreds of units clash in formation. Terrain, neighbors, and the people who join each playthrough all vary, so no single strategy is guaranteed to work twice.

The development team states that its goal is making the connection between a nation’s grand changes and each resident’s individual life feel tangible. Residents sometimes act beyond the player’s expectations, and that unpredictability is meant to convey that this world belongs to more than just the player. The publisher frames the concept simply: “A nation is an aggregate of people.” The game supports Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese for a single-player experience, with price and rating still undecided. Playtests matching the gamescom 2026 build are planned, with participants selected by lottery among official community server members. A colony sim where citizens can redraw borders on their own initiative is certainly one to keep an eye on.
