BLOKES on BLOCKS! Free Update Adds New Stages, Rules, and TGS Plans
Developer CRAFTS&MEISTER has begun distributing a free update for BLOKES on BLOCKS!, its chaotic multiplayer party game for Nintendo Switch and PC, starting today, September 3, 2026. In the game, players control mustachioed middle-aged characters and rely on simple up, down, left, and right movement to bump every rival off the stage. The latest patch significantly expands the experience with new battle rules, two additional stages, a brand-new item, extra outfits and accessories, plus UI improvements and tutorial videos aimed at newcomers. The update also sets the stage for the title’s appearance at Tokyo Game Show 2026 later this month.
The update introduces Imperial Crater, a perilous arena surrounded by boiling lava where dragon statues on both sides launch fireballs that turn the landing area into molten rock, and touching lava deals damage. The second stage, Walrus Mustache Island, is a frozen snowfield where players can craft snowballs, with powered-up throws encasing opponents in snowman form. In keeping with the game’s naming tradition, both stage names are derived from beard-related words. Stage-specific gimmicks remain a highlight of the chaotic competition across the board.
Three additional rules have been added alongside the existing lineup. In one new mode, players fight to seize the Hot Zone that appears on the stage, blowing away rivals to monopolize it for victory. Another rule revolves around a crown that changes hands, with chasers and runners trading roles in frantic tag-style battles. A third assigns each player a color, and whoever turns the most blocks into their shade wins. The patch also adds a chargeable electric item that discharges around the user after a delay, downing nearby opponents, and can be enhanced into an even stronger lightning bolt. After this update, the game offers 11 stages and six rules total.
The updated version of BLOKES on BLOCKS! will be showcased at Tokyo Game Show 2026, running from September 17 to 21 at Makuhari Messe, with general public days from September 19 to 21. The booth will offer new giveaways alongside event-exclusive plans, and original merchandise is confirmed for display at TGS 2026, with on-site sales planned for OSAKA INDIE GAMES SUMMIT 2026. A commemorative sale is also underway across Nintendo Switch and PC. The game launched on March 5, 2026 at 1,480 yen (~$10 / ~¥71), while the update itself is free, and online play supports up to six players. With its simple premise and newly expanded content, this oddball party title remains one to keep an eye on.
