April 2026 PlayStation Plus Essential Games Revealed
Sony has announced the PlayStation Plus Essential monthly free games lineup for April 2026, which will be available for members to claim from April 7th through May 4th. The selection includes three titles spanning different genres, offering a mix of dark fantasy action RPG, multiplayer anime action, and classic adventure remasters. This month’s lineup provides substantial content for subscribers, with each game offering distinct gameplay experiences and features that cater to various gaming preferences.
Lords of the Fallen is a dark fantasy action RPG available for PS5 where players take on the role of a Dark Crusader navigating between the realms of the living and the dead to overthrow the evil god Adyr. The game features a massive interconnected world, challenging boss battles, and fast-paced combat. Players can choose from nine different character classes and have access to hundreds of weapons, allowing for highly customizable character builds and combat styles that encourage replayability.
Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream is a multiplayer action game based on the popular Sword Art Online series, also available for PS5. The story revolves around the malfunctioning “Galaxy” system, requiring protagonist Kirito to team up with 21 characters from different timelines, including former allies and enemies, to repair the timeline. The game supports up to 20 players who can form five squads to cooperatively take on challenging boss encounters in large-scale multiplayer battles.
The Tomb Raider I-III Remastered collection includes complete versions of the classic first three Tomb Raider games with all their expansion content, available for both PS5 and PS4. The remasters feature comprehensive visual upgrades while maintaining the option to instantly switch back to the original polygon-style graphics. A new Challenge Mode has been added, allowing players to replay levels with custom rules and complete achievements to unlock ten new outfits that enhance Lara Croft’s abilities. This lineup offers solid value for PlayStation Plus subscribers, with Lords of the Fallen providing deep RPG mechanics, Sword Art Online delivering multiplayer action, and the Tomb Raider collection offering nostalgic adventure gaming.
