WoW: Infinite Patch Makes Tauren 60% Faster, Adjusts Orcs

Blizzard has published the final round of race talent balance changes for World of Warcraft: Infinite (《魔兽世界:无限》), with the nostalgia-focused MMORPG now roughly one week from launch. The patch has drawn widespread discussion among players because racial talents carry far more weight in this version than in current World of Warcraft. Many performance-minded players are studying the numbers closely, hoping to avoid spending hundreds of hours leveling a character that ends up behind others.
The update no longer aims for complete equality across every race, according to the developer announcement, and instead preserves unique advantages for certain race-class combinations. Orcs have lost their critical strike bonus; their racial talent now increases pet damage for hunters and warlocks. The new race Sky-Blue Elf (天蓝精灵) sees its signature “解读地脉” (roughly, Interpret Ley Lines) skill cut in half. Its rapid health and mana recovery was considered overtuned, and while the ability remains useful, it is no longer described as overpowered.

The most widely discussed change concerns the Tauren, a classic race present since the original Warcraft. Tauren now receive a large movement speed bonus, moving 60% faster than other races. Players have joked that the race looks like a “race car” fitted with nitro acceleration. The change has become the headline item in patch discussion, drawing more attention than the adjustments to orcs and the new elf race.

At present, the changes exist only in the developer announcement, and players cannot test them in-game. All practical effects will have to be verified after the servers open next week. Even so, players are already planning characters around the new talents, mapping out leveling routes and class combinations. The Tauren speed boost is certainly the most eye-catching item here; whether it truly reshapes the meta will only become clear once the game is live.
