Way of the Hunter 2 Launches Officially on PS5, Xbox, and PC
THQ Nordic has officially launched the downloadable version of Way of the Hunter 2, its realistic open-world hunting simulator, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game spent roughly six months in early access on PC after beginning on March 26, during which the developers gathered player feedback and added a range of improvements and new features. A physical PS5 edition is scheduled for release on November 26, with pre-orders currently open. A newly published trailer highlights the game’s vast natural settings, diverse wildlife, and hunting with canine companions.
Set across the vast wilderness of North America and Africa, Way of the Hunter 2 lets players track a wide variety of wildlife. In North America’s New Lorencia region, players pursue elk, bears, and bison alongside smaller animals and birds. In Africa’s Kilimaya hunting management area, they face hippos, buffalo, lions, and Nile crocodiles. As a hunter, the player takes on various requests while interacting with colorful characters, aiding a veteran dog trainer investigating abnormal elk behavior in North America, or supporting a safari guide in Africa and attempting to recruit a retired legendary female hunter.

A loyal hunting dog can accompany players, locating animal tracks, following blood trails, and pursuing wounded prey; training and exercise help the dog learn and grow into a reliable partner. Two players can explore and hunt together in co-op. Thermal night vision and suppressors aid nocturnal hunting, while habitat regeneration, pollution removal, and invasive species control improve the quality of local wildlife. An improved bullet camera analyzes each shot’s ballistics, speed, angle, and impact point, and a new trophy system reflects each animal’s age, constitution, and natural individual variation.

Way of the Hunter 2 will continue to receive new biomes, animal species, and authentic equipment after launch. The Season One Season Pass is set to deliver eight DLCs over the first year. Players who own the previous game’s downloadable version on the same platform can purchase the sequel at a discount, and the earlier Night Hunting Pack DLC is available for free in the new title. The game features licensed gear from brands including Bergara, Leupold, ZEISS, and Merkel. The PS5 physical edition is listed at ¥5,170 (about $34), rated CERO D for players 17 and up. With its deep simulation systems and a steady DLC roadmap, this one looks worth watching for hunting fans.
