ToHeart Multi Sensor Unit Headset Launches at TGS 2026
The HMX-12 “Multi” Sensor Unit, a wearable accessory inspired by the maid robot Multi from ToHeart, drew attention when its release was announced on September 8, 2026. The item was displayed and offered for advance sale at Tokyo Game Show 2026, held at Makuhari Messe from September 17 to 21, with the 17th and 18th reserved as business days. Based on the design of the renewed ToHeart released on June 26, 2025, the headset is built from acrylic resin and other materials as a stylish piece of merchandise.
According to the organizers, the sensor unit is worn near the ears on a headband. It is a joint project between Chuo-cho Tactical Craft, a design team focused on near-future accessories, and COSPA, a company known for cosplay costumes and character apparel. The two exhibited the item at their booth, listed as 10-W12 in Hall 10, where the planning staff discussed the product. The piece appears designed to translate the character’s mechanical details into a wearable fashion accessory for fans of the series.

Chuo-cho Tactical Craft specializes in acrylic modeling and favors characters with mechanical parts. Its influences reportedly trace back to Mika Akitaka’s “MS Shojo” designs and Kenki Fujioka’s mecha work. The team said that after gaining enough technical experience to bring mecha concepts into reality, it felt the time had come to “maybe make Multi’s sensor now.” The release of COSPA’s ToHeart cosplay uniform in October 2025 also served as a trigger, prompting the team to propose making Multi’s ears.

The item was handled by Yosuke Wada, a founding member of COSPA. Back in 1998, he helped establish the “COSPA VS beauty:beast” line of anime-illustration apparel together with the Japanese designer brand beauty:beast, at a time when such collaborations were still uncommon. The HMX-12 “Multi” Sensor Unit is priced at 30,800 yen (~$205, ~¥1,480 CNY) including tax. First-round orders run from September 17 to October 19, with shipping planned for January 2027, and the first batch ends once stock runs out. For longtime ToHeart fans, this looks like a notable collector’s item.
