Tokyo Game Show 2026 (TGS 2026), one of Asia’s premier gaming events, has released its first promotional video, confirming the exhibition will run from September 17 to September 21 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. This year marks the 30th anniversary of Tokyo Game Show, and the event will adopt a five-day schedule for the first time in its history. The official theme for TGS 2026 is “The Longest Ever, Five Days of Pure Enjoyment,” signaling a significant expansion in both scale and visitor experience for the milestone edition.
The five-day format introduces a split between industry and public days. Business Days will take place on September 17 and 18, running from 10:00 to 17:00 each day, and will be restricted to industry professionals for B2B meetings, partnership discussions, and business networking. Public Days follow from September 19 to 21, with opening hours from 9:30 to 17:00 (last day closes at 16:00), offering game demos, stage events, merchandise sales, and other hands-on experiences for the general public. Organizers stated the extended schedule aims to accommodate more attendees, expand business networking opportunities, and alleviate previous years’ congestion issues.
TGS 2026 is projected to reach new heights in participation, with over 1,300 exhibitors from 47 countries and regions expected, alongside an estimated total attendance of 300,000 visitors. The show floor will be divided into dedicated zones covering console games, indie games, mobile titles, hardware devices, and esports, bringing together major global publishers and emerging independent studios. The event’s promotional video features a neon blue and purple color scheme with futuristic geometric designs, centering on the 30th anniversary and five-day theme, with a young protagonist symbolizing the idea of “games connecting generations.”
