Remothered: Legacy of the Red Nun Announced as Trilogy Finale
Stormind Games has officially announced Remothered: 赤き修道女の遺産 (Remothered: Legacy of the Red Nun), the third and final installment in the survival horror trilogy. The game was revealed during the Future Games Show Spring Showcase on March 13, 2026, with a planned release in late 2026 for PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. According to the developers, this title serves as both the conclusion to the Remothered series and a standalone experience designed to be accessible to classic horror game enthusiasts who haven’t played the previous entries. The announcement marks Stormind Games’ return to the franchise they originally created early in their development history.
Stormind Games CEO Antonio Cannata explained the decision to return to the Remothered series, stating that after working on other projects, the team couldn’t accept letting the franchise disappear. Cannata emphasized a sense of responsibility toward the community that might have believed the project was abandoned. Game Director Antonio Cutrona added that Remothered: Legacy of the Red Nun will deepen the story while introducing new special abilities that expand the core gameplay pillars. The developers confirmed that while the game provides the true conclusion long-awaited by series fans, it’s also designed as an independent work that classic horror game lovers can immediately enjoy without prior knowledge of the series.

Players will enter a world where nothing is as it seems, exploring the Cristo Morente monastery to uncover unsettling truths, hidden secrets, and distorted realities about the Red Nun legend. The game features a relentless stalker enemy that players must survive by hiding and using survival instincts, with counterattacks necessary in critical situations. New hypnotic abilities allow players to read memories left on objects, revealing forgotten events and finding hidden passages to alter their perception of the environment. The game pays homage to classic third-person survival horror titles while offering expansive world exploration with clues, important items, and puzzles to solve.

Stormind Games is an indie AA studio with proven horror game development credentials, having created the previous Remothered titles, developed A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead in 2024, and co-developed Mafia: The Old Country with Hangar 13 in 2025. The studio also maintains a collaborative relationship with Behaviour Interactive. Pricing and language support details for Remothered: Legacy of the Red Nun remain undetermined at this time. The original 2018 Remothered game was praised for its complex, interwoven narrative and tense survival horror experience, earning recognition as one of the most terrifying games ever made. This final chapter appears poised to deliver a fitting conclusion to the atmospheric horror trilogy that began eight years prior.
