Poko a Pokemon Wave 1 DLC Arrives August 5, Wave 2 Adds Accessories
The Pokemon Company has announced that the first paid downloadable content wave for Poko a Pokemon on Nintendo Switch 2 will launch on August 5, 2026. Titled Bubble Underwater Town, this expansion introduces an entirely new underwater location where players can build and explore alongside their Pokemon. Alongside the DLC, a free update (Ver.2.0.0) will release on the same day, adding significant new features for all players. The company also shared new details about Wave 2, scheduled for Winter 2026, which will introduce an Accessory system allowing players to dress up their Pokemon. The game, jointly developed by The Pokemon Company, Game Freak, and Koei Tecmo Games, continues to expand with these post-launch content updates.
Bubble Underwater Town brings players to a submerged environment where they can fulfill requests from Pokemon like Popplio to gradually develop the town. New mechanics include growing Watermelons in underwater fields, with Mudkip-type Pokemon using bubbles to nourish the crops. Floating construction blocks allow for vertical building in the water, with electric-type Pokemon like Chinchou powering underwater machinery such as lamps and bubble machines. Players must first complete the “Raise Your Environmental Level Further!” request in the Don- beach town and learn the new Dive move to access this content.

The free Ver.2.0.0 update introduces the Dive move, taught by Manaphy, which allows Water-type Pokemon to swim freely underwater. This move unlocks the ability to create resting spots and farms beneath the surface, lay railroad tracks from land to sea, and enjoy extended underwater exploration. Manaphy itself can be befriended in the Bubble Underwater Town paid content. Additionally, new underwater-themed furniture will be available, including a Sharpedo Submarine that can be built as a secret base-style room. The Starmie Doll item will grant access to Dream Island for multiplayer swimming sessions.

Wave 2 of the Expansion Pass, arriving in Winter 2026, will introduce an Accessory system that lets players dress up their Pokemon with various accessories, alongside new furniture and Pokemon. Notably, Wave 2 will not add a new town. The Expansion Pass is currently available as a bundle covering all three waves. Meanwhile, an in-game event called “Feebas’s Pretty Scale Collection” will run from August 13 to August 28, 2026, where players can collect special scales to befriend Feebas and Milotic and exchange them for beach-themed furniture. This underwater expansion adds fresh dimensions to Poko a Pokemon’s town-building experience. With the creative freedom of underwater construction and the upcoming accessory system, the game continues to offer compelling reasons for players to return to their cozy Pokemon communities.
