Platonica Space Launches August 14 with Memory Exploration Gameplay
KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO and developer Kazuhide Oka have announced that their upcoming psychological SF adventure game, Platonica Space (プラトニカ・スペース), will launch on August 14, 2026 for PC platforms. The game is part of the ANMC music and indie game project collaboration between the two entities. Players take on the role of a person who awakens in a strange, infinite expanse of rooms with no memory of who they are. Alongside four other amnesiac individuals, they must explore ever-changing room environments, uncover memory fragments, and piece together the truth behind their situation. The announcement was accompanied by a refreshed key visual and trailer, as well as a new insert song music video titled Nemuru Sora feat. somunia, now available on streaming platforms.
Platonica Space is built around the concept of exploring an infinite number of interconnected rooms. The structure of the space changes every time the player wakes up, including which characters are present and what items can be found. Players must search for memory spots where lost memories can be partially restored. To fully reconstruct a memory, players need to locate related items and place them at the memory spot. Memories are presented in novel-like text, gradually revealing the full story. However, a consciousness meter depletes with each action taken, and when it reaches zero, the player falls asleep and wakes up in a completely different room, losing all collected items in the process.

The story is set one century after Earth became uninhabitable and humanity scattered across countless planets. The player awakens in a room with no exit, joined by four other people who have also lost their memories. As memories are recovered, it becomes clear that not all of them belong to the player. Some memories hint at dark pasts among the group: a person who once shot a young girl with a pistol, or someone who attempted to stow away using a forged ID card. Players must determine which memories belong to whom, creating an atmosphere of suspicion and mistrust. The other characters also gradually regain their own memories and may offer hints, but the game warns against trusting them too easily.

Platonica Space is scheduled for release on August 14, 2026 for PC platforms. The standard price is set at 1,200 yen (~$8 / ~¥58), with a launch discount of 17% off reducing the price to 996 yen (~$7 / ~¥48) until August 27. The game supports Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese languages, with English translation by Marco Godano and Chinese translation by flankoi. The development team includes scenario and development by Kazuhide Oka, 3DCG and art by Moe Katakura, BGM by agehasprings Party, and logo design by JEFF99. The insert song Nemuru Sora feat. somunia, composed by KAIRUI with vocals by somunia, has also been released alongside a music video. For fans of Kazuhide Oka’s previous titles like Girls Maid Pudding and Natsu no Kanata, this psychological memory exploration game with its tricky trust mechanics is shaping up to be an intriguing experience worth watching.
