Mystic Road’s Zodiac Mountain Brings Chinese Mythos to Card-Battler Genre
Developer Mystic Road and publisher Phoenix Games have released a Chinese-language demo for Zodiac Mountain (生肖山), a card-building Roguelike title currently featured in a PC platform deck-building game festival. The game blends回合-based card combat with traditional Chinese cultural elements, drawing inspiration from the ancient mythological text Shan Hai Jing (Classic of Mountains and Seas). Players take on the role of a panda warrior as they ascend the mystical Zodiac Mountain, mastering the forces of Yin and Yang to challenge the twelve zodiac signs. The project has also received funding support from ScreenWest and Screen Australia.
Zodiac Mountain merges Roguelike card strategy with immersive narrative storytelling, all rooted in classical Eastern mythology. Players step into the fantastical realm inspired by Shan Hai Jing, embarking on a fateful adventure as a resolute panda traveler.
