Kamen Rider Agito Superpower War Film Reveals New Scenes and Cast
Toei Company has released 13 new scene photos for the upcoming Kamen Rider film ‘Agito – Superpower War,’ scheduled for release on April 29, 2026. The movie serves as the 55th anniversary celebration of the Kamen Rider franchise and represents the latest installment in the Agito series, which originally aired in 2001-2002 and holds the highest average viewership rating among all Heisei-era Kamen Rider shows at 11.7%. The film removes ‘Kamen Rider’ from its title, positioning itself as a fresh take on the franchise aimed at adult audiences with supernatural action elements. The original cast from the television series is returning, led by Jun Odagiri as Makoto Hikawa/Kamen Rider G3 and Rikiya Kikuchi as Shouichi Tsugami/Kamen Rider Agito.
The film brings back the complete original cast including Hitomi Fujita as Sumiko Ozawa, Jun Yamasaki as Tohru Hōjō, Akira Shibata as Takahiro Omuro, Takeshi Masu as Yoshihiko Misugi, Rina Akiyama as Mana Kazaya, Kimimasa Tanabe as Taichi Misugi, and Takashi Higuchi as Kino. New additions to the cast include Yuchami making her film debut, along with Ryusuke Komagine, Yuki Imai, Hiroaki Iwanaga, Suzunosuke, Kokoro Aoshima, Tetsu Kanada, and Becky. The newly released scene photos show Hikawa and Tsugami with serious expressions, Ozawa aiming a gun at her former colleague Hōjō, and the Misugi family enjoying a meal at Restaurant Agito.
The film’s plot revolves around a world where people begin awakening to supernatural abilities, with some using these powers to create chaos in the city. The story follows police officer Makoto Hikawa, who possesses no special powers but believes strongly in justice, as he confronts these superpowered individuals. The conflict explores themes of evolution versus belief, with those who have powers running wild against those without powers who must find resolve. Additional scene photos reveal the superpowered antagonists including Rouge in a red dress, Onigashira in a strange apron, Shibukawa holding a ping-pong paddle, and Hayami with two-tone hair styling.
Advance ticket sales begin on March 13, 2026, with various bonus items available depending on the retailer. General admission tickets cost ¥1,800 (~$13) while child tickets are ¥900 (~$6.50). Special bundles include B5 visual sheets featuring G7 and G3&G3-X armor, limited rubber charms, and ticket-style acrylic blocks. The film runs 97 minutes with a PG12 rating and is directed by Ryuta Tazaki with screenplay by Toshiki Inoue. Music is composed by Shunsuke Kida, with action direction by Satoshi Fujita and special effects supervision by Hiroshi Butsuda. The film is part of the new ‘THE KAMENRIDER CHRONICLE’ brand that aims to appeal to both longtime fans and newcomers to the franchise.
