Halo 2 and Halo 3 Remasters Reportedly in Development at Halo Studios

A roundup of major gaming news reveals that several high-profile projects are making progress behind the scenes. According to leaker Rebs Gaming, Halo Studios has officially begun development on remasters of both Halo 2 and Halo 3. The news follows the previously announced remaster of Halo: Combat Evolved (titled Halo: Campaign Evolution). Multiple sources indicate both titles are in early development and are expected to follow the same approach as Halo: Campaign Evolution, utilizing Unreal Engine 5 for the remastering process.
Fan response to the reported remasters has been mixed. Some members of the community believe the studio should focus on delivering original content, particularly given that Halo 2: Anniversary already received a well-regarded remaster treatment. Others are eager to see the remasters happen, with some expressing hope that Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach could also be included in the plans. Following the restructuring of 343 Industries into Halo Studios, the developer’s future direction may include remasters and service-based spin-off titles alongside the mainline series.

Bandai Namco has released a gameplay trailer for Kunimitsu, the first additional character joining Tekken 8’s Season 3. The female ninja character, known for her deceptive fighting style, will be available for early access starting May 28, with a full release on June 2. Meanwhile, Resident Evil 9: Requiem is seeing notably high completion rates, with data showing an overall rate of 70.5 percent and 66.9 percent on PS5, surpassing Resident Evil 4 Remake’s roughly 60 percent. The high rate is attributed to the game’s streamlined eight-to-ten-hour campaign, purely linear design, lower difficulty settings, and robust accessibility features.

Mass Effect 5 game director Michael Gamble has stated in a response to fans that the team is fully occupied with development work and has not prioritized sharing progress updates. Since the game’s initial announcement in 2020, official information has been limited to annual N7 Day reveals. While a release date remains uncertain, with fan speculation ranging from 2026 to 2030, the game is confirmed to still be in active development, and classic features such as romance systems are expected to return. Separately, the narrative FPS INDUSTRIA 2 launched to mixed reviews with a 48 percent positive rating on PC platform. Developer Bleakmill has issued an apology, acknowledging that the game did not meet its intended quality standards. Two patches have already been released addressing save file issues and soft-lock problems, though players note that while the game shows potential, it suffers from rushed development, bugs, and a lack of content. This is definitely a situation worth monitoring for those interested in the title.
