Haikyuu!! Anime Collaboration with Kura Sushi Launches March 6
Kura Sushi has announced a major collaboration with the popular sports anime Haikyuu!!, launching a special campaign across all its restaurants in Japan starting March 6, 2026. The collaboration features character-themed menu items inspired by four high school teams from the series: Karasuno High School, Nekoma High School, Fukurodani Academy, and Inarizaki High School. Each menu item comes with an original collectible card featuring character illustrations on the front and school banners on the back. The campaign runs through April 2, 2026, offering fans a unique dining experience with exclusive merchandise.
The collaboration introduces several limited-time menu items specifically designed around characters’ preferences. For Karasuno’s Hinata Shoyo, an orange jelly and orange sorbet with additive-free cola drink captures his energetic personality. Nekoma’s Kozume Kenma inspired an apple pie dessert using apple compote and black cocoa crunch. Fukurodani’s Bokuto Kotaro and Akaashi Keiji’s favorites combine in a beef kalbi dish with mustard mayonnaise. Inarizaki’s Miya twins inspired a hand roll with medium-fatty tuna and pickled daikon radish. Each dish reflects the characters’ personalities and preferences from the anime series.

Customers can obtain exclusive Haikyuu!! merchandise through multiple channels. The “Bikkura Pon!” game offers prizes including charm keychains featuring chibi characters holding sushi items, masking tapes showcasing anime scenes, and pin badges with characters in their volleyball uniforms. Additionally, two promotional waves will give away clear files and sushi plates to customers spending 2,500 yen (~$17) per transaction. The first wave runs from March 6 while supplies last, and the second begins March 19, with each limited to 300,000 participants nationwide.

A special photo campaign encourages customers to take pictures of the Haikyuu!! promotional materials on Kura Sushi’s conveyor belts and post them online with a specific hashtag. Ten winners will receive complete sets of collaboration merchandise. The campaign runs from March 6 to March 31, 2026, at all Kura Sushi locations except “Mutenzou” stores. This collaboration celebrates the anime’s popularity following its successful theatrical film release in 2024, which grossed over 20 billion yen worldwide. For international fans visiting Japan, this represents a unique opportunity to collect exclusive Haikyuu!! merchandise while enjoying themed dining experiences.
