Final Fantasy Resonance Drops Final Trailer Ahead of October Launch
Square Enix has released the final trailer for FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE ahead of its October 22, 2026 launch on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and PC, with the PC version arriving on October 23. The trailer depicts a story of revenge and bonds surrounding a crystal, and is set to the image song “INSIDE” by WurtS. WurtS is a solo artist who officially launched in 2021, self-producing everything from songwriting and arrangement to artwork and video, and will release the mini album “SPARK” on October 21.
At Tokyo Game Show 2026, held at Makuhari Messe from September 17 to 21 — with September 17 and 18 reserved as business days — Square Enix will set up a playable demo booth. Attendees can pick from three data options: a NEW GAME that starts from the beginning of the story, a mid-game Dungeon Exploration, and an Arena where players challenge strong enemies. The Dungeon Exploration and Arena portions are not included in the currently available demo, so those who already played it will find something new. Visitors who try the game receive limited novelties, including a retro package-style box and a Final Fantasy Trading Card Game PR card featuring Feena.

The title is developed under the concept of “what if FINAL FANTASY had continued to evolve while staying pixel-based,” and is positioned as the latest entry in the “Dot Final Fantasy” line. Built on HD-2D graphics that fuse pixel art with 3D, it employs a technique called Cinematic Pixel that pixelates 3DCG for opening movies and dramatic event scenes. It retains turn-based command battles and a job system, alongside chocobos, summons and airship exploration. Editions include a standard version at ¥7,678 (about $52 / ~¥370 CNY), a Digital Deluxe Edition at ¥9,878, and a Collector’s Edition at ¥25,500 that bundles acrylic blocks, a pixel art book, a 120-track soundtrack and a limited trading card.

Square Enix also announced a collaboration with Chateau Mercian: a limited red wine called “Chateau Mercian Rouge for FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE,” launching on October 22, 2026 and priced at ¥13,000 (about $88 / ~¥630 CNY). The 750ml bottle features an original label and gift box expressing the game’s world, with a 13% alcohol content. It marks the first time the Chateau Mercian brand has released a collaboration product with game content. The RPG is a single-player title rated CERO C, produced by Keisuke Nakajima, directed by Kaito Furuya and developed by Lancarse, with scenario by Yukinori Kitashima and sound by Elements Garden. With a packed lineup of editions and events, this one is worth watching for Final Fantasy fans.
