Control Resonant Pre-Orders Open as Wishlists Top 2 Million

Remedy Entertainment has officially opened pre-orders for CONTROL Resonant, the direct sequel to its supernatural action title. According to the studio, the game’s wishlist count across all platforms has surpassed two million as of September 2026, underscoring the anticipation surrounding the follow-up. The announcement confirms the project is moving steadily toward launch, with the developer framing the pre-order campaign as a sign of strong player interest. The sequel continues the story established in the original Control while introducing a new playable protagonist and a significantly expanded setting.
CONTROL Resonant is set seven years after the events of the first game. Players take on the role of Dylan Faden, the brother of original protagonist Jesse Faden. Described as an “altered” individual long imprisoned by the Federal Bureau of Control, Dylan regains his freedom when a supernatural catastrophe strikes Manhattan. He must learn to control his evolving paranormal abilities while searching for his missing sister Jesse and preventing a cosmic entity capable of rewriting reality from destroying the world. The story builds directly on the foundation of the original.

Compared to the enclosed Oldest House of the first game, the sequel expands its setting to the entirety of Manhattan, divided into multiple distinct regions with a semi-open-world exploration structure. Gameplay has shifted from the original’s action shooting to a third-person action RPG, emphasizing aggressive melee combat, parries, and cold-weapon combos, alongside gravity-based abilities. Dylan’s core weapon, the “Alter,” can freely switch between forms, transforming into a giant hammer for close-range heavy strikes or converting into a ranged weapon. These options combine with his supernatural powers for varied combat approaches.

Pre-ordering any digital edition grants players the Hiss-Corrupted outfit and the Pickpocket Tool Alter. Those who pre-order on PS5 receive an additional Occultist set. In the China region, the standard edition is priced at ¥268 (~$37), while the digital deluxe edition costs ¥328 (~$45). Remedy has clearly packed the pre-order offer with extras, and the two-million wishlist milestone suggests the sequel has already captured significant attention. For fans of the original, this is one launch worth keeping on the radar.
